The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Wegmans Salted Virginia Peanuts, 20 oz. can UPC code 077890185919

I was opening a can of Wegmans Salted Virginia Peanuts, and I received a nasty cut to my finger. The foil seal on the inside is unusually, and unnecessarily thick. As this foil is removed, it tears into razor sharp edges that are very dangerous. There is no tab or other mechanism to remove the foil safely. The can could be sealed with thinner foil of the thickness that is used on coffee cans. This would seal the product ensuring freshness while also eliminating the hazard to customers.
