  1. No one hurt

Made Oct 15, 2011, sent to the company Nov 9, 2011, published by CPSC Nov 25, 2011

The product, in the report: Metal canteen, bottom of canteen is olive drab, brown, dark brown, and tan camouflage color with a gray rim at the top, top is a gray lid with a carabiner-type item and black rubbery spout that flips up to open and the carabiner-type item flips up to close the canteen. Canteen is 3 inches in diameter and about 7 inches tall overall. Received as a gift with purchase of $100 from the New Balance shoe store in Allen, TX.

I received as a gift with purchase of $100 or more a olive drab, brown, and tan camouflage-colored metal canteen from a New Balance shoe store in August or September 2011. The lid of the canteen has a round rubber spout, .5 inch in diameter, that flips up and pours liquid from it. My son has been using the canteen to take water with him to school. He has been chewing on the rubber spout, and the spout has broken in half midway down the spout, so about half an inch of what is basically thick rubber tubing is about to completely separate from the spout. Also, he has been able to chew tiny pieces of the rubber off of the spout, and I’m concerned that other children might chew on this and accidentally swallow or choke on the small and large pieces of rubber that have separated from the spout. I have taken it away from him, and we won’t be using it any more.
