The product, in the report: Food cans from various manufacturers.
All food cans with pop-top lids have a safety hazard involving the can’s interior. When the lid is removed, the top interior of the can presents a razor-sharp edge that projects about 1/8-inch into the interior. I have lacerated my fingers several times when trying to stuff a paper towel into the can after I place the lid into the can. The injury didn’t require a visit to the ER or my doctor. I do this to prevent the lid from falling out and tearing my garbage can liner.
I have also cut myself on the lid itself. However, I received free of charge from [REDACTED] Co. a pop-top lid puller that prevents this hazard. [REDACTED] will send a consumer one free of charge when you call their customer service line.
However, there is no quick fix for the problem with the can’s interior. I suggest that you investigate the can’s design to see if it can be redesigned or at least a warning label. Manufacturers that use this can are, for ex., Del Monte Foods, Vigo Foods, Campbell Soup.
