  1. No one hurt

Made Jan 2, 2022, sent to the company Jan 4, 2022, published by CPSC Jan 26, 2022

The product, in the report: OXO Good Grips Smart Seal rectangular glass food storage containers. Set of 8, two of each size. Plastic snap-locking lids with green seals.

I purchased the Good Grips Smart Seal glass food storage containers made by the company OXO. I purchased them a couple of years ago at The Container Store in San Diego, CA. They are rectangular glass food storage containers with plastic snap-lock lids. Unfortunately, small glass shards break off the containers, presumably contributed by the snap locking lids. I checked reviews on [REDACTED] and other people are having the same problem. This has been happening to me ever since I purchased the items but I thought maybe the first couple issues were a fluke. But on Jan 1, 2022 this happened to me again randomly and I know for a fact that I did not mistreat or mishandle the glassware. I was simply using it to store shredded chicken and using it it a normal manner. I found a glass shard on my counter after taking the chicken out of the fridge and removing the lid. No injuries occurred because the glass ended up on my counter and not in the chicken, thank goodness.
