The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Apr 24, 2025, sent to the company Apr 29, 2025, published by CPSC May 13, 2025

The product, in the report: Berkley Jensen 20 pc. Glass Food Storage Set. Includes multiple rectangular and round glass containers with blue airtight locking lids. Made of high borosilicate glass, stackable. Labeled as BPA-free and microwave/dishwasher safe.

Over the past two days, I experienced two separate incidents involving glass shards in food stored in Berkley Jensen glass containers. On April 22, I bit into something hard while eating food that had been stored in the [REDACTED], and suspected it might have been a bone or similar. I discarded the food out of caution.

On April 23, while eating a completely different batch of food from a different container in the same set, a glass shard became lodged vertically between my tongue and the roof of my mouth, causing bleeding and immediate pain. I had to remove the glass while driving and swallowed blood.

After inspecting the containers, I found multiple chips around the rims that appear to have come from normal stacking/storage. The product was not dropped or misused. I have photos of the chipped dish, the glass shard, the injury, and the meal. I have also notified my physician and documented the injury in my medical records. This product is dangerous and needs to be investigated.
