  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Nov 24, 2025, sent to the company Dec 4, 2025, published by CPSC Dec 18, 2025

The product, in the report: 18 oz Yeti Rambler with chug lid. Cherry blossom color. The rambler was purchased through Amazon in October 2025, but the lid has been mixed with a pool of chug kids from multiple yeti ramblers. It is impossible to say if this lid is from the October purchase or if it’s from one of the ramblers purchased over the last year or two.

We dropped a full, Yeti water bottle. It must have landed on the lid handle. Sometime later, I unscrewed the lid to give to our four year old daughter and noticed sharp plastic shards on the chug lid mouth piece. It appears that the plastic threads were sheared off during the fall. If my child ingested these, I assume it would be a medical emergency. Since I noticed the shards, no injury occured.

The product is an 18 0z. Yeti rambler with chug lid. https://a.co/d/9pdyVe5

Additional physical injuries sustained include: lacerations to both upper and lower eyelids, severe swelling, headaches, and optic nerve damage; permanent blindness in his left eye. The adverse psychological effects are constant and ongoing, he was never depressed. Ever aspect of his life, daily routine activities, are now difficult for him. previous to this catastrophic injury the same tasks were performed with great ease; without a second thought. The injury, along with losing his sight has significantly diminished his overall quality of life. His left eye was his “good eye”, his dominate eye, as he could see well from it.No reasonable person would expect to be bloodied and blinded by their favorite beverage container. Yeti products have an inherently flawed design and pose a significant hazardous threat to be seriously injured or loss of life.

The product, in the report: Yeti’s 26oz Rambler bottle in Seafoam

Consumer Product Safety Commission [REDACTED] 4330 East West Highway September 6th, 2021 Bethesda, MD 20814

Dear Consumer Product Safety Commission, I purchased Yeti’s 26oz Rambler bottle in Seafoam in June, 2020. For over l full year I was pleased with my purchase. Just prior to the start of school (8/15/21) I was getting ready to wash it out (I had had some [REDACTED] sweet tea and lemonade in it) when on opening the bottle it EXPLODED on me. The O ring gasket flew across the room. It sounded like a shotgun went off. The exterior of the bottle was not damaged but the inside bottom was warped. Not knowing why this occurred and not wanting anyone else hurt I emailed Yeti’s customer service, I have talked to them several times and all I get is to fill out a warranty form. I am unable to fill out the warranty form, the latest reason is the pictures are too big. I have enclosed the pictures for you. I am also frustrated to the point that I have decided it would be best to contact both you and the Better Business Bureau in Austin, TX. My greatest concern is to find out WHY this occurred-I NEVER would have expected it from one Yeti’s bottles. I was not personally injured but the next person could lose part of their face or hand or worse.. At this time I am afraid to use my other Rambler Bottle that I purchased this year.

    Sincerely, [REDACTED]
