The product, in the report: thermal hot/cold air pot. stainless steel and glass insulated

I bought a new thermal carafe at bed, bath, and beyond on 1/10/2013. It is an OGGI PumpmasterModel 6538. That evening I filled it with hot water, according to the directions and closed it. the top of it was in the off position. I lifted it up to pump water into my sink and it was as if a high pressure sprayer of boiling hot water discharged on the back of my right hand. I placed my hand under cold water, then applied wet tea bags, and proceeded to submerge my hand in cold ice water off and on for several hours. The following day my skin started coming off and I had to seek medical attention. I have owned several of these air pots (not this brand) and the self pressurization and discharge of boiling hot water is something that I have never seen. The OGGI company wants me to return the air pot so they can examine it, claiming that they have never had this happen. I researched on line and found several reviews that stated leaking as well as discharge. With the severity of my burn and the default of this product I am very concerned that this is not an isolated incident
