The product, in the report: https://bdasites.com/fedexcompanystore/Product/1527975-FedEx_Kraver_Water_Bottle is a link to the bottle. The bottle is not currently for sale but the link is still active. It is a glass water bottle with a bright blue silicone sleeve around most of it that has a white FedEx logo on it. Description from the site is: “The milk bottle design, easy carry plastic lid and the included carabiner make this water bottle perfect for work or the weekend. Features 18.6 oz shatter resistant glass in a silicone sleeve. 8.75”H x 2.75” Bottom Diameter.” This is a water bottle meant to hold beverages.
I had an incident with the FedEx Kraver Water Bottle item #1527975 purchased from The FedEx Company Store (managed by bdasites.com aka Bensussen Deutsch & Associates).
I was handwashing the water bottle at home on May 4th and my thumb went right through the bottom of the glass bottle, resulting in a severe laceration which required an ER visit, 18 stitches, IV antibiotics, rx antibiotics, X-rays, and has resulted in permanent nerve damage. My thumb left a circular hole in the base of the bottle and the remainder of the bottle was intact. The glass sliced the front and back towards the inside side of my right thumb including nerves and possibly a tendon.
The description used in the original link to the item in the FedEx Store states that it is made from shatter-resistant glass. This is definitely not the case. It’s not normal for someone to be able to push a finger through glass so easily like I did, so I would suspect it has a manufacturing defect. The rest of the bottle remained in tact. Also, the top of the bottle seems to have thicker glass than the bottom of the bottle.
