The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Aladdin 2L stainless steel carafe bought at Walmart 10-01240-001

I bought the Aladdin stainless steel insulated carafe from Walmart to keep the extra coffee from my percolator hot in the morning. I filled it with hot coffee without a problem. When I hit the red button to open the carafe to pour a cup of coffee twenty minutes later, it spit and sprayed about 4 ounces of hot coffee at the person who had the cup. The person was not hurt but could have been....it sprayed them all over their chest and not their face. I now have to hit the red button over the sink before I pour so no one gets hurt. It makes a little explosion noise when you hit the red button. It is like something builds up in the pot in twenty minutes. Hot coffee can also come out where the red button is back toward your hand. I called Aladdin but they said it was a Walmart problem because it was made “special” for Walmart. I have had the pot for a week. It is not operator error. I am an elementary school principal and I have a lot of experience with coffee carafes. This thing is dangerous and a burn hazard.
