While in normal use, the connector on a King-size electric heating pad (plug-to-pad junction) sparked and melted. The product was being used as intended, plugged into a standard household outlet, on a seated adult. There was no misuse the cord was not bent sharply, pulled, or damaged.

During use, the plastic at the connector began emitting sparks and melting from the inside, creating an immediate fire hazard. I unplugged it immediately, preventing what could have been a fire or serious injury.

There were no physical injuries only because the hazard was detected and the device was unplugged right away. The product remains unsafe and cannot be used again.

Photos of the damaged connector have been recorded and are available.

I am reporting because this product clearly poses a house-fire risk and appears to lack required electrical safety certification for sale in the U.S
