The product, in the report: whirlpool duet dryer natural gas
Whirlpool duet NG dryer. model number: wgd9400sw0. Moved dryer from one location to another. After I hooked up gas line and plugged unit in i tried a test run to see if all was well. Within seconds of pressing on button I seen and smelled smoke coming out of dryer everywhere. I immeadiently shut it off and unplugged. shut off gas valve as well. first i removed top cover because thats where it was hottest and the most smoke, nothing. Then i removed lower front panel and located the burnt and smoldering moisture sensor. Very scary situation. I never realized a fire could start so quickly. time elapsed between pressing start and noticing smoke was under 15 seconds.
