The product, in the report: Kenmore gas dryer

I have had a new Kenmore Mod# 110.75132412, S#M72414798.Natural gas dryer. I converted to LP gas working great for 9 months. Then it started blowing fire into the drum, smoking up the drum and my clothing. You could see the fire coming into the drum while running. Sears repair came out and said I did not have the correct LP conversion kit installed. I ordered a new one directly from Sears parts. It came and would not work with the original dryer burner control. I had Sears service personnel come out again and he could not make it work either again. He stated the two parts were no comparable. Now I have a dryer that does not work.

The product, in the report: Sears Kenmore Elite front loading gas clothes dryer.

I purchased a Sears Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer in November 2007. I recently began to smell natural gas emitting from around the dryer and called Alabama Gas Company. Their service technician arrived and checked the dryer for a natural gas leak and found that in fact there was a gas leak coming from inside the unit. His opinion was that it was coming from the internal gas valve. He checked all of the external natural gas line connections to the unit and found no natural gas leak at any external line or connection.

The product, in the report: Kenmore HE2 Gas Dryer, 2008 Model # 110.97531702 Serial Number MW3501127

I have a Kenmore HE2 Dryer that is a little over 4yrs old. Maintenance is well kept knowing I am a Service Specialist who takes care of the products as a consumer and a professional. With this said, on January 22, 2013 my wife was doing laundry. She felt the clothes were dry so went to our laundry room, pressed Stop on the Dryer, opened the door and started to pull clothing out to fold. Within seconds she noticed smoke coming from the Dryer so immediately pulled out all the clothing. I was away so she called me to ask what to do. She unplugged the Dryer and pulled it forward to assure it was on the ceramic floor so nothing under it would catch fire. I returned home within an hour and removed the lint filter to see it was not burnt but had smoke smell. I took off the kick plate in front to view the damage. The electrical print which was taped to the plate was in ashes. Note this is within inches of the burner duct. There was no lint or dust collected in the area except minor amount on the floor area away from any hot surfaces. I took numerous pictures and only notice one flash burn on the kick plate excatly at the lower right of the electrical plate. I had charred wiring and door switch plus smoke stains throughout where I feel it will be next to impossible to get out. Note my clothing was not smoke stained so the fire started when the unit was stopped. I took my findings and researched to see if there were any recalls on this product or other complaints on the Web. I found a recall on LG and Kenmore Elite but my model was not on the list. I question whether the faulty gas valve is the same for my unit, whether the electrical print was to be encased in plastic to protect it or was it truly poor wiring that caused the arc then a burn. Airflow was not an issue with the blower duct due to good care and duct run is less than 2ft.
