The product, in the report: GE Natural Gas Clothes Dryer Model
My 5 year old GE gas dryer Model GTD65GBSJ3WS failed to dry the laundry. I had a certified GE repairman respond to fix the dryer. He found that my igniter was bad (which is not the reason for this report). While fixing the issue, he discovered that the dryer was not equipped with a gas flow shut off valve that would turn off the gas in the event of a failure. He explained that when we were running the dyer it was pumping natural gas thru the dryer into the house. If there had been a spark of any type, the house could have exploded. He further stated that he had never seen this in his 32 years of repair service. As I did not see anywhere else to advise this, I noted on the equipment label it shows made in Mexico.
