The product, in the report: Electrolux Home Products, Frigidaire Gallery Series Clothes Dryer: Model # GLG02152EE0, Serial # XD65013431 120V-60HZ 6AMPS (?) Gas Input 20,000BTU/HR (?)
I have a gas powered Frigidaire clothes dryer that has a defective thermostat which I have replace at least three times because it stays on at random times it will remain open and the flame continues thereby scorching the drum. I came very close to having my house go up in flames today. This is not the first time. When I contacted Frigidaire customer service today, an agent told me to hold on but effectively disconnected me. I had to be intentional because my phone number was recorded and no attempt to return the call was made. This is a serious issue. The model # is GLG02152EE0, the serial # is XD65013431 -

The product, in the report: Gas clothing dryer. Frigidaire Gallery Series Model# GLG02152ES0 Serial # XD51912048
We experienced a gas clothing dryer fire. The appliance technician who came to our home to service the dryer after we noted a burnt smell in dried clothing told us that fire was unusual in his experience because it was not in the venting system but inside the dryer itself. Based on visual inspection of the inside of the dryer after the technician removed the front panel it appears that lint accumulated over time (11 years) in the bottom of the sheet metal box that forms the exterior of the appliance. Immediately before the fire the dryer was tipped in order to move it during a kitchen remodel. It appears that the layer of lint in the bottom slid to the front of the appliance and formed a low mound which was in close proximity to the gas burner element. Likely this drift of lint ignited the next time we used the dryer. The technician speculated that the dryer may have experience excessive back pressure in it’s venting system due to accumulated lint in the slats of the exhaust on the outside of our house. He suggested that somehow the dryer developed an internal leak that allowed lint to accumulate inside the appliance housing. No one was hurt and the fire was contained within the appliance. The fire was hot enough to melt plastic parts inside the dryer and discolor the paint on the outside of the appliance. We were not aware of smoke, just a burnt smell in the clothing inside after the run. Model# GLG02152ES0 Serial# XD51912048 Manufacture Date (?) 05/2005

The product, in the report: Fridgedaire Gas Dryer
On April 26, 2015 around 10pm, I turned on my dryer to de-wrinkle some clothing, and then I left the laundry room in the basement and retuned upstairs. About 2 minutes later the fire alarms started going off in the home. When I got to the top of the stairs, I saw smoke crawling along the basement ceiling. I turned into the laundry room, and saw flames coming out of the metal exhaust tube attached to the end of the dryer. I grabbed the fire extinguisher in the basement and used it to put out the flames in the exhaust tube. I touched the top of the dryer and it was very hot, so I did not open the door. After evacuating the house, I called 911 to send the fire department. When I was on the phone with the dispatcher, she asked me to look through a small back window in my laundry room so see if the fire had been put out. At that time the smoke in the basement was very thick, but I could see flames shooting from the dryer. The fire department put out the fire quickly, but we sustained smoke damage through the entire home and there was some damage to the basement laundry room. After the fire I researched what the cause could have been online, and I found out that our dryer was involved in a class action lawsuit. Electrolux settled the lawsuit, but has not recalled the dryer, even though they are aware of the issue of them catching fire from being made improperly. I was never notified of the lawsuit, and just happened to find the information on our own, and I did verify that our model number: FGRB6600FS, and serial number: XD7141181, were involved in the class action lawsuit. I am asking you to have these dryers recalled since Electrolux has failed to do so. My brand is one of 5 brand included in the lawsuit.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire Gas Dryer (White) Model # FRG5714KWO
We purchased a Frigidaire Gas Dryer Model FRG5714KWO three yrs ago and the dryer caught fire this week! My husband heard a loud BOOM! from the laundry room and when he entered, the dryer was shooting flames from the bottom and sides and the laundry room was full of smoke. He immediatley called 911 and the fire department arrived to extinguish the fire. Our entire home was full of smoke and the charred dryer was removed by the fire department. The firemen reported that the motor had caught fire and we were lucky that someone was home when the incident happened. This model should be reported as a fire hazard and put on the recall list. There are hundreds of complaints online about Frigidaire gas dryers catching fire. No one should have to deal with the potential dangers of a dryer fire.

The product, in the report: Combo Laundry Center with gas dryer. Model FFLG2022MW Serial 4E24100349. White color
I ve purchased this laundry center on 11/12/2012. After initial instalation the laundry center was working continuosly without stoping. The manufacturer said that they forgot to reprogram it from testing to operation. Now, the dryer starts and stops by itself every 10 seconds and the only way to stop it is to unplug it and tur off the gas. The machine is proved to be hasardous and on my request to replace it or return it the manufacturer refuses to do it. This is just the third month of operation and there are so many problem with this new computarised model.

The product, in the report: Frigidaire gas dryer
I own a Frigidaire gas Dryer, purchased in june of 2011, this is my 3rd service call for this machine. This dryer has a timer setting on it. When you use the bulky setting it is programmed to run 60 minutes. The Machine will count down to 56 and when it goes to 55 minutes it goes to a foot print in the screen that chases itself. The first repair person replaced the board and thermostat. the second repairman had us change the vent and he called his tech center who called Frigidaire and the say it’s normal for the dryer to run for an hour and half. I just used the dryer yesterday April 17, 2012 and did the same thing, i let it ran for 2 hours and never shut off. Now I have the third repairman coming on friday. Don’t leave your house with dryer running.

The product, in the report: Gas Dryer
The consumer says that she was doing laundry. After about 15-20 minutes she smelled smoke. She saw smoke filled the laundry room and she could not see flames inside the dryer. The consumer unplugged the dryer and it stopped smoking. She contacted the retailer who sent out a technician. The tech determined that the housing melted. The consumer contacted the manufacturer who told her the unit is not under warranty, and there is nothing they can do. Consumer Added: That she did not realize there had been flames until the bottom cover of the dryer was removed.
