The product, in the report: Electrolux gas dryer
Electrolux gas cloths dryer, model ELFG7637AWO. The dryer experienced an internal fire during normal operation. A service technician inspected the unit, yesterday Wednesday Deceased 17, 2025, and confirmed that both the front and rear felt drum seals had detached, allowing lint to escape the drum and accumulate near heated components. This resulted in ignition inside the dryer cabinet. The technician identified the failed felt seals as the cause of the fire hazard. The dryer no longe`r works and is not in use.

The product, in the report: White Electrolux Gas Clothes Dryer, purchased in 2016
Our Electrolux dryer (model: EFMG517SIW0) consistently collects significant amounts of lint after the lint filter. To clean out the lint that gets past the lint filter, I need to have an appliance repair company disassemble the dryer to clean out the blower, or I have to force my hand/arm beyond the lint trap and into the blower and pull the built up lint from the blower by hand.
Fortunately we have not had a dryer fire yet, but the amount of lint that gets past the lint filter is definitely dangerous if an owner does not regularly clean out the blower and exhaust vent. The blower is not easily accessed to clean the lint. This has been documented in multiple [REDACTED] videos- [REDACTED]; [REDACTED]

No one hurt Made Aug 3, 2018, sent to the company Aug 13, 2018, published by CPSC Aug 27, 2018
The product, in the report: Natural Gas Dryer
We purchased an Electrolux EFMG517SIW gas dryer on December 24th, 2016. After 1 year the dryer started making an awful noise. I called Electrolux and informed them of what was happening. they said my warranty had just expired, however all parts would be included but not the labor. They sent their certified Electrolux repair company. They proceeded to take apart my entire dryer. I was supervising as they were still asking questions. When they finished removing all of the outside casing of the dryer they came across with the motor and blower wheel. the blower wheel was completely full of lint. They proceeded to comment that they had never seen that particular design and cleaned out the blower wheel, they could not figure out what caused it. No parts were replaced. After a hefty $300 invoice, I contacted Electrolux explained everything that was said and they sent me a new lint holder, they seemed to know that this was an issue. I emphasized that this was a fire hazard especially considering that it is a gas dryer. A few months later I noticed that the blower wheel which is sort of visible from the lint holder is full again. I contacted Electrolux they basically told me to have someone service it and they could not do anything about it. I have had dryers prior to this and never had a problem. This is a severe Fire HAZARD, and they are not willing to do anything about it.
