The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Westendorf CS-151 Front end loader for tractor

Incident 1: November 23, 2018 Using new Westendorf front end loader in normal manner. Removable bucket safety latches failed. Loader bucket fell in operators lap, breaking femur bone. Operator required femur surgery.

Incident 2: July 2, 2019 Using same Westendorf front end loader. Loader is rated to lift 3000 pounds. Actual load = 2300 pounds. Loader king pins sheared on both sides, load fell to ground, and safety latches failed once again.

Incident 3: July 30, 2019 Using same Westendorf front end loader. Safety latches failed again, bucket fell off loader. I had previously added safety chains to prevent bucket from falling onto operator again.

Incident 1 was reported to Manufacturer. Unacceptable response from Manufacturer. Incident 2 reported to Manufacturer. Manufacturer provided replacement king pins. Operator still un recovered from previous indecent and unable to repair front end loader with parts supplied by Manufacturer.

This Westendorf front end loader, obviously, has multiple safety problems. (multiple safety latch failures and load capacity issues) Operator is fortunate that one or more of above incidents has not resulted in death.
