The product, in the report: Troy-Bilt Pony Lawn Tractor
Troy-Bilt Pony Lawn Tractor. 42” deck 15.5 hp We purchased the Troy-Bilt Pony from Lowe’s in April, 2014. In September 2018 two of the 3 seat adjustment knobs fell off unbeknownst to us until the next time I went to use the mower. One of the plastic pieces into which the knob is screwed went up into the seat itself. I sat on the seat and applied the brake before turning the key. The seat swiveled around. While turning the steering wheel or applying the brake the seat would swivel. If the remaining one knob had fallen off while I was mowing I could have lost control of the mower causing a crash and injury to myself. I could have fallen off the mower also. Who knows what would have happened if I had fallen off with the seat. If the two knobs that did fall out had done so while I was mowing I could have lost control at that time. If my husband had not been able to repair the seat by getting the plastic screw piece back into the seat (not as easy thing to do) and buying new seat adjustment knobs at a local hardware store we would be unsafe using this mower. I feel this mower should be recalled before someone is seriously injured. Thank you.
