No one hurt Made Dec 18, 2013, sent to the company Dec 27, 2013, published by CPSC Jan 13, 2014
The product, in the report: LG Electric Dryer no washer attached. Model number DLE2515S. Made in 2005 verified via serial number. It is a side load dryer.
Dryer drum lost protective cloth that protected it from rubbing against the other metal parts of the dryer drum area. The rubbing and thumping the dryer made eventually wore the edge of the drum away producing sharp shards of metal that could hurt someone who puts their hand in there. Not only that but if someone were to use the dryer in its current state (I wouldn’t but someone could do this) they could lose clothing inside the dryer resulting in other serious problems.
