The product, in the report: Electric Dryer, Amana, White Front Load, Filter in front Model DLE330RAW SN 0112105039 Mfg PDLE330RAW PIC 1109030000 Purchased 3/21/02
Amana Electric Dryer Model DLE330RAW SN 0112105039 Mfg PDLE330RAW PIC 1109030000 Purchased 3/21/02
Came with a lint filter which included a felt “washer” or band of felt adhered to the inside edge. This is no longer available. The replacement filter, 37001142, does not have the felt. This filter lets much more lint by than the original. The lint collects and clogs. After one dry cycle, I can see considerable difference between the amount of lint bypassing the original filter and the replacement filter. Manufacturer says to just vacuum out the lint, which I do once or twice a year. It is ridiculous to vacuum it out as often as one would need to with the replacement filter.
This is a Fire Hazard. Basically, the manufacturer offers a replacement part that does not work as it should. “Sorry.”
Appliance parts store said they have received complaints from others that this nearly $40 filter doesn’t work properly.
