The short answer

NHTSA received Newmar Corporation’s report on Apr 4, 2017. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 19, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the driver cannot see the speedometer and RPM displays, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2017 King Aire motorhomes.

The seals on the headlight harness connectors may not be properly seated, allowing water to enter the connector.

As a result, the glass dash display may switch to the turn signal camera mode causing the dash to show the turn signal side camera view over the speedometer and RPM displays.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
