The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made Jun 28, 2018, sent to the company Jul 9, 2018, published by CPSC Jul 30, 2018

The product, in the report: Dino-Fizz Tyrannosaurus Fizzing Bath Egg. It is green and approximately 3” tall x 1.5” wide and 2.2 oz.

I purchased Dino-Fizz for my grandson’s bath time. Upon placing the egg in the water, it began fizzing. My grandson reached out and touched the fizzing egg and started screaming it hurt his fingers. I began rinsing his fingers under the running bath water while my daughter tried retrieving the egg. She also experienced the same issue. She said it felt like it was burning her fingers. Both of their fingers were red and they complained about pain for quite some time after the incident.

The only warning on this product is about the small toy contained within the egg.

I tried contacting Smith & Vandiver, the manufacturer of the product, through their website, their 800 number and just recently by letter. To date, no one has responded.
