  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Jul 7, 2022, sent to the company Jul 15, 2022, published by CPSC Jul 29, 2022

The product, in the report: Dr Crafty Epoxy Resin - sold in a kit that comes with 2 bottles. One Resin and one Hardener. Kit sizes vary from 16oz to 2 gallon. Bottles are labelled with purple and green labels with black and white text. Smaller kits are sold in black boxes and come with accessories like stir sticks, mixing cups and gloves.

Dr Crafty’s Epoxy Resin is being falsely advertised and sold as an epoxy resin that is safe to use at home without properly warning the consumer of the risks involved when using this product without the proper SDS, hazard warnings and protective equipment required when handling the product. The product is advertised as a craft product, but it is a very harsh chemical that is not being properly marketed or labelled as such. The SDS has warning hazard pictograms that are not included on the label, which is misleading and dangerous. For example: 1. Advertised as non-flammable yet manual says it will burn if in contact with flame torch?! 2. 4 hazard warning pictograms on SDS (including a skull & crossbones pictogram) but only irritant pictogram on back of bottle. 3. Amazon listing states it is NON-TOXIC and has no VOCs but it contains ingredients with skull & crossbone pictogram. 4. Box & bottle only has safety glasses pictogram: “Avoid Contact With Eyes. May Cause Permanent Eye Damage.” However, SDS has pictogram and states “Wear tightly sealed goggles” 5. No SDS or ingredient information readily available (had to request and it took several tries to actually get a copy). 6. SDS has skull & crossbones pictogram not on label 7. No website & no extra supports (videos, social media, information etc) 8. Says low odor but very strong odor - could smell through mask and from 48 hour cured resin
