I want to report a laceration safety hazard with a child’s product called “Art 101®, Tri-fold Art Set” manufactured in China by “DM Creations Int’l Ltd.”, located at “18/F, Two ChinaChem Plaza, Hong Kong”. They post a US phone number (877) 927-8101, and email: customerservice@art101usa.com. The vinyl covered box-like package contains drawing and coloring utensils (made in Vietnam). I wish to report that the “seams and edges” of the container that have been heat welded are razor-sharp! I just went to move some items that surrounding this play set in my child’s room and inadvertently brushed my hand in an upward motion along the seam. I sustained a very deep cut on my left index finger that should be stitched. I can’t imagine what this might do to my 5 or 4 year old children. The manufacturing process could have included an last step of melting the edges into a round or bull nosed finish. I recommend that this product be examined and recalled if necessary due to it’s hazardous packaging.
