The product, in the report: American Craft Laser Square
I recently bought an American Craft Lazer Square. Shortly after inserting the 9v battery in each arm I noticed, upon picking it up, that the one arm was extremely hot. My husband opened the battery compartment & smoke poured out. The casing around the battery had melted as well as one of the wires. I have called and written this company as I was extremely concerned with the SAFETY of others unsuspecting to this. Had I not noticed this would have been in my craft room & most likely would have burnt down my home with us in it. This company emailed me back telling me they understood my frustration. I found it a bit more serious that frustrating. Despite my several emails nobody asked for the sku or any information on the product. My final correspondence I did tell them of my intent to contact this agency and then & only then did they disclose that they were aware & their lab is investigating it. To date they have nothing on my particular piece. I would like this report filed in the case that a fire is started and there is property & or human life lost.
