  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made May 20, 2024, sent to the company May 24, 2024, published by CPSC Jun 10, 2024

The product, in the report: Ceramic Paint - intended for use on ceramics or glass. It comes in multiple colors in 1.69 fluid ounce tubes. This is the product description from the website: “Are you struggling to decide which color of the ceramic paint you want to try first? Now there is no need to make a choice; you can enjoy all nine of our amazing No Bake Ceramic Paints in one bundle while also saving 10%! A Makers’ Studio No Bake Ceramic paint lays a rich, permanent color on ceramic and glass surfaces and it’s food safe!”

I purchased Ceramic Paint from “A Makers’ Studio” (https://amakersstudio.com/collections/ceramic-paint/products/ceramic-paint-bundle). Their website claims it is food safe. However, when I received my order, I saw that the paint bottle said it is washable between 56 to 104 degrees. That sounded odd since my dishwater even when I hand wash is up to 120 degrees. I called the company to ask about this, and they said while I’d probably be okay handwashing it at 110-115, it starts to disintegrate and come off at 150 degrees and it should not be heated above that. Since food and drinks are hotter than 150 degrees in many cases - coffee, tea, food out of oven or off the stove, it is clearly not food safe as advertised and should not be used on mugs, plates or bowls. It also has a very strong odor that reminds me of how wall paint from Home Depot smells. I asked for a Safety Data Sheet, but have not received one.

I have since followed up with company and asked for a full refund but have not heard back.
