Made Jan 30, 2012, sent to the company Feb 7, 2012, published by CPSC Feb 29, 2012

The product, in the report: Hard cover book, aprox 8’’x5” Title on front cover: An Art Activity Book Solar System Scratch and Sketch for inquisitive artists and astronauts of all ages

Safety concern: I purchased a children’s activity book from a gift store in Westerly, R.I. I asked for gift wrapping and was intending to give it as a Christmas gift for an 8 year old boy. In re-wrapping the gift prior to Christmas I noticed a “Caution” statement on the back of the book which reads : “CAUTION: drawing stylus has a functional sharp point. Keep particles of scratch coating away from eyes, as irritation may occur. In case of accidental contact, flush eyes with water. Avoid inhaling particles of scratch coating. Use in a well ventilated area under close adult supervision. Not for children under 5 years of age.” 1. this product contains potentially [REDACTED]/harmful substances and should not be marketed/especially for children. 2. Had I not seen the Caution statement, I may well have given this potentially dangerous book to an 8 year old child who could well have used it unsupervised and/or shared it with other children in the same manner. 3. This book should be recalled immediately and the publisher notified that they are producing/promoting a potential health hazard for children, or anyone using this product!
