  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Oct 22, 2018, sent to the company Oct 31, 2018, published by CPSC Nov 23, 2018

The product, in the report: “Baby’s Day” Cloth Book by Karen Katz

We have three cloth baby books with string: “Baby’s Day” by Karen Katz, “Where’s the Bone?” by the Manhattan Toy Company, and “Buzzing Through” by the Manhattan Toy Company. “Baby’s Day” has a ribbon attached from the book to a baby doll. “Where’s the Bone?” has a dog bone attached from the book by a cord. And “Buzzing Through” has a bumblebee attached to the book by a ribbon. On October 22, 2018 my 6 month old daughter was in the kitchen on an activity mat with her toys including the “Baby’s Day” book. I was in the bathroom with my 3 1/2 year old son getting him ready for bed. I heard her coughing and then she let out a strange cry I hadn’t heard before. I ran into the kitchen and she was laying on her back with the ribbon across her throat. She was red in the face and her eyes were wide as she was crying. I picked her up and she soon stopped crying. I am very upset and concerned about the safety issue of these string ribbons and cords. I have photos of the books if needed.
