No one hurt Made Jan 29, 2023, sent to the company Feb 2, 2023, published by CPSC Feb 16, 2023
The product, in the report: Sound of the Wild: Bugs by Maurice Pledger. Published by Silver Dolphin. ISBN13 9781607102427. Manufactured, printed, and assembled in Heshan City, China March 2011. Conforms to the [REDACTED]. 7963-08. The batteries in it say [REDACTED], I have a picture.
I got a children’s audio pop-up book from Goodwill. It had dead batteries so I took the old ones out to replace them. One of them exploded in my hand. No injury but definitely hard enough that if it had blown while I was reading the size, I could’ve lost an eye.

To Whom It May Concern: I’m writing to inform you that I had two books tested for lead by XRF Research, Inc. on April 12, 2012. The green snake in “A Nature Trail Book by Maurice Pledger In the Rain Forest” contained approximately 300 parts per million of lead. I purchased this book used on Amazon March, 2012. The brown beehive in “A Nature Trail Book by Maurice Pledger On the Mountain” contained approximately 773 parts per million of lead. I purchased this book at a used bookstore in 2010. I urge you to take action to ensure that existing and future products do not contain lead or other toxic chemicals in their components. Sincerely, [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED]
