  1. No one hurt

Made Jan 31, 2013, sent to the company Feb 7, 2013, published by CPSC Feb 22, 2013

The product, in the report: Children’s Book: BATHTIME BABY (lift-a-flap picture-book) written by [REDACTED] and Illustrated by [REDACTED], edition printed in 2006. Laminate covering peels off and is a possible choking hazzard to small children/babies.

I had received a book as a Baby Shower Gift for my most recent child born Last year on Jan. 8th of 2012. The book is called BATHTIME BABY•Big flaps for little fingers•Written by [REDACTED], and Illustrated by [REDACTED]• Edition printed in 2006•ISBN 1-84322-413-5 • Product Scan Code 9 781843 224136

Today’s date is January 30, 2013, and on this evening about 8:33pm(approx), my 12 yr old son had discovered his baby brother of 1 yr, had a piece of thin plastic in his mouth. Both of us, my older son and I had gone back immediately to where my youngest was sitting, to see if we could figure out where the plastic had come from. I then came to realize that the book that was sitting there on the floor, the laminate cover on the book was peeling off! The book is hard-covered and made from thick cardboard. Most of his books are always up out of reach from my little one, and I had taken this one down only 5 times to read it to him. So it is basically brand new! I guess the last time I read the book to him, which was just 4 days ago, before bedtime, I must have forgotten to put it up and away! Never-the-less, it is a baby/childs book, and the laminate, covering the book, is a highly potential choking hazard in my opinion. It would be nice to see this book recovered more-so safely to prevent peeling, and the possability of little children choking. This is a cute book, and my little one loves the mirror in the book, at the very end of the story, so I hope to see this book re-covered, so I can be confident about my son’s safety to play and read this book on his own as he grows!

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my report!

Sincerely, [REDACTED] of Terrace, BC, Canada.
