The product, in the report: Defective Chinese Drywall
After experiencing numerous issues with our electricity in the home we built in 2006, an electrician suggested we have a Chinese drywall inspection (September 2017). In October of 2017 we learned that the house we built in 2006 has Chinese drywall from at least two companies (Knauf and [REDACTED]). We moved out of our house and joined a class action lawsuit, but have been unable to determine an appropriate, safe and sustainable course of action. We had replaced the AC, and it had been repaired numerous times during the time we were in the house. We also experienced some respiratory issues.

The product, in the report: Drywall within the house has been determined to be Chinese and corrosive. knauf tianjin Has been identified as the manufacturer.
Purchased a home a crew years ago from the original buyer. Just recently I went to sell the home and the new buyers inspector suspected Chinese drywall. I went ahead thinking this could not be possible since I hired an inspector before buying the property and he did not find much wrong with the home. I just recently hired another inspector who specializes in Chinese drywall to come in and inspect the home and he confirmed within a 98% certainty the house has corrosive Chinese drywall without.

No one hurt Made May 11, 2013, sent to the company May 20, 2013, published by CPSC Jun 11, 2013
The product, in the report: Knauf Drywall brand
the building process of our house begin in 2004 and ended 2007.We moved in 2008. In 2010, the Central Air Conditioning unit broke. The A/C repairman changed the Air Handler and advice of some unusual discoloration in all metal fittings. Late 2011, the Air Handler broke again and again replaced by the same Technician who noticed that all cooper fitting and end of wires were black and in worse condition than the previous repairs. He stated that we may be encountering a (Chinese Drywall) issue. I had never heard of anyone having this problem neither heard any cases on the news. I left to Afghanistan in 2012 with the Army and once again the system failed and replaced for a third time. After a long 12 month overseas, I returned to America on January 7, 2013 but did not made it home till the 8th of May 2013 due to injuries suffered during the deployment. I then contacted several friends and neighbors regarding our situation and they advised to get to the attic and see what brand of Dry Wall was used to finish the interior of our house. I noticed that all the Dry Wall used in the ceiling was made with the Knauf brand. A quick Google search revealed that the mentioned brand was indeed one of the faulty brands. I have contacted a certified inspection of the entire house to determine if the rest of the house was also build with the same Dry Wall brand. Today, 11 May 2013 we have officially opened a formal request so that our case is further look in to. Thank you in advance for your quick response.

The product, in the report: Knauf Chinese Drywall
My home was built in 2006. I moved in, in November of that year. Since early 2009, I have had unexplained facial swelling. I have gone to my family doctor, ENT, allergist and even my gynecologist thinking it was something hormonal, all to no avail. Over the past couple of months, I began suffering with respiratory issues. This was during a period of time of a lot of rain and very high temperatures. The problems got so severe, that I had to get up in the night and turn on the shower to allow the moisture and heat to open up my airways. Over a few days, I noticed that the problems worsened when I walked into my home after being at work all day. I then wondered if I was allergic to something. I recalled something my HVAC repairman said after he replaced my A/C coils for the second time just a couple of months prior (April 2012). He said that he had not seen that level of corrosion on coils except in the instance of Chinese drywall. So, I began to research. In addition to the health issues and A/C coils, I had replaced all of the dimmer switches in my home. I had also had to take batteries out of smoke detectors that would not stop chirping. My plumbing had begun to leak upstairs in the attic without explanation. My research gave “symptoms” of a home with Chinese drywall, most of which mine had. So, I went into my attic to see for myself. I pulled back insulation to see the words “Knauf” and “China” all throughout my attic and on the walls of my upstairs (which I could access through my upstairs attic. The next day, I and my children moved out of my home and into the home of a friend. I contacted an attorney and had an official inspection yesterday, which revealed my home had Knauf Chinese Drywall throughout.

Hurt, care not known Made Mar 21, 2012, sent to the company May 14, 2012, published by CPSC May 29, 2012
The product, in the report: chinese drywall
Dear Governor, IN April 2004, we Contracted Aranda Homes, Inc. to build a house on our lot on Coral Oaks Golf Course in Cape Coral, florida. It took tWenty months to complete. We finally moved into our “DREAM HOUSE” the end of November, 2006. When the news of the “Chinese drywall problems” surfaced. we did not think we were involved since we did not have the “rotten egg” odor.- We did have an odor that smelled like wet concrete. That odor is still present and most noticeable if we leave the house for a day and come back. We have had major air conditioning problems. Our unit had to be replaced three times so far, and it is happening again. The AC contractor told us the copper coils are turning black. We have checked all the receptacles throughout the house and found that all copper wires were covered with a black soot-like coating. The wires in our security system box are also turning black. Our hard-wired smoke detectors no longer work. We had to put up the battery-type ones. We are senior citizens (77 and 72 years old) and live on very fixed income. We do not have the funds to remove and replace drywall and appliances. Also our house was built with metal studs. We were told if the drywall is not removed carefully (each screw has to be taken out individuaJly). the studs could bend and twist. This would alter the structural stability of the house. This house was built with one wall of the great room as a built-in entertainment center (all drywall and paint). We have since covered this with wodd, mirrors, glass shelves, and wood trim. It is very unique! There is NO WAY it could be replaced. We have spoken to the state Health Department, and they have no answers. They just took information from us, mostly medical. We have had some medical problems that we did not have before, namely bad sinus problems. headaches. intestinal problem and itchy skin. We are contacting you to find out what is being done about this problem on the federal state. county, and local levels. Who should be made accoutable? Who is going to help us? Just how dangerous is this? Is there a legitimate test that could be done to confirm that we have the problem? At this point, we just want someone to LISTEN to our problems and come up with some ANSWERS. Your prompt attention to this problem would be greatly appreciated [redacted]

The product, in the report: Chinese drywall has hydrogen sulfide
I am confident my son was affected as he had sores on his arms and face with oozing puss. We went to over a dozen doctors whom could not determine what it was. We then found a doctor whom thought it was Lupus yet after running tests it was not. We were then advised he was allergic to the sun. when we were advised to fly to New York for testing and spend THOUSANDS of dollars I not allow him to go back in the house at all.
He is 90 percent clear as I believe the Chinese Drywall exacerbated and triggered some type of sun allergy. He is in the sun 2-4 hours a day yet only has occasionally a bump or two. When we were in the house it was so horrible!
What can I do to have this investigated?
Respectfully,
[REDACTED]

The product, in the report: KNAUF-TIANJIN CHINA- ASTM C 36
While in my attic I noticed the words KNAUF-TIANJIN CHINA-ASTM C36 on uncovered drywall. I investigated it further via internet, all sites said it was chinese drywall my home was built in 2006. In the past we have complained about different symptoms such as burning of the eyes, nasal problems, strong odor of egg and a sulfur smell. I’ve gone to the doctor several times but there wasn’t much that could be done. I inspected my air conditioner coils and yes they are black with smut on them. I discovered the above words on 08/14/11, the symptoms started after moving into this home in November 2006. I didn’t have money for an inspection for chinese drywall but now I have physical proof. I am concerned about long term health issues for my family and I.
