The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Home elevator system by Residential Elevator

We have a home elevator Made by Residential Elevators. I think it was installed in 2016 or 2017. The doors are not compliant with the 3/4”, 4” rules for safety to avoid child entrapment. Many other vendors have addressed this risk with recalls and door baffle installation. I just got a notice from Residential Elevator saying we must separately arrange for baffling and they won’t do any maintenance for us until we do (https://residentialelevators.com/safety). This seems ridiculous to me. You seem to be letting this manufacturer shed responsibility for a known defect to the consumer while other manufacturers are convinced to accept the need for a safety recall. These systems are all virtually identical in this respect. Over 4 inches is over 4 inches. Can you get Residential Elevators to recall their product and provide baffles? I tried to get them on-line but they are constantly out of stock. This is a known risk with a clear and straight forward correction that is only being partially implemented.
