  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Sep 3, 2025, sent to the company Sep 12, 2025, published by CPSC Sep 26, 2025

The product, in the report: XRzitky Natural Sisal Rope for Cat Scratcher, 1/4 Inch 65FT Sisal Rope for Cat Scratching Post Repair Replacement, Multi Color Cat Scratch Tree Rope Replacement, Original Color - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZQ8XQPB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

the following products emit a powerful and suspicious chemical odor, a fact confirmed by multiple other purchasers. it smelled of kerosine when i first purchased it and continues to smell of licorice months later. I demanded a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or equivalent safety documentation from the seller, who outright refused to provide this essential safety information. Thats unacceptable. I need proof that these items are safe, because theyre being used around my family, and Im reading that Sisal rope is often treated with dangerous chemicals including substances that pose real health risks to both people and animals. 4-Methylcyclohexanemethanol (MCHM) smells like licorice and is highly toxic. there are a few fungicides that are reported to smell like kerosine that are highly toxic as well. The product is Sisal rope, links here
