The product, in the report: The product is a self-cleaning automatic litter box sold under numerous names. [REDACTED] Several manufacturing companies in China are producing them. For example: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Petwant-Smart-Self-Cleaning-Cat-Litter_1601206279021.html?spm=a2700.picsearch.normal_offer.d_title.6d965f93XEdBBN
I watched a video of an automatic self-cleaning cat litter box with a potentially lethal design. Unlike other self-cleaning machines, this design rotates on the y-axis and closes on the opening (fixed to the base) during the cleaning cycle. The anti-pinch sensors are faulty, which has resulted in two cats being trapped and crushed to death. It’s only a matter of time before a baby or child gets injured or killed. This video explains the horrific design and these shady companies in more detail: [REDACTED].
The machines are sold under various company names across platforms such as Amazon, Wayfair, and Walmart in several countries. The man who created the video has compiled a list of all the listings of automatic self-cleaning litter boxes he could find that use this design: [REDACTED]
