Reporting a hazardous incident and a safety concern. The hazardous incident concerns this product: Rimobul 20PCS 1.5INCH New Generation Extra Large Cat’s Favorite Chase Glitter Ball Toy Sparkle Pom Pom Balls sold on Amazon. The “glitter” consists of thin strands of flexible plastic, probably LDPE. When the balls are used in play the strands break off in small pieces. While playing with our cat one of the pieces found its way into my wife’s left eye. One day of increasing irritation and failed attempts to remove it resulted in functional blindness and a visit to the ophthalmology department at [REDACTED] to remove it. The safety concern is that this product is a choking and inhalation hazard for pets and infants.
