The product, in the report: Petmate Replendish Automatic Gravity Waterer for Cats and Dogs - Grey color
I purchased a Petmate Replendish Gravity water bowl (4 Gallon capacity) and after filling up the jug half way (not even to the full capacity) and transporting it to where leave my bowl for my dogs, the black plastic cap on the jug failed. It cracked and resulted in the 4 gallon jug dropping. The jug itself dented quite bad and over 2 gallons of water spilled onto my hardwood flooring, damaged a wall, and injured my foot after the impact. The water leaked through the flooring into the basement due to the large amount of water in it.
I alerted the team and they came back to me via writing that “the cap is not meant to support the weight of the jug” which is very misleading and dangerous. There is no statement on the packaging that supports this claim, and as someone who works in product development, I find it baffling that this company produces a product that they then say themselves cannot support its own weight.
