The product, in the report: Pet smart gentle leader dog collar- black

On July 1, 2020 time 5:30 pm, I took my 60 lb. Golden Retriever dog out for her usual afternoon walk.

For the last 3-4 years, I have been using the Pet Smart brand gentle-lead collar. My dog will lunge at small animals expecially cats, and for the last 3-4 years this product has controlled her head and prevented injury to me by doing what it proclaims. This product was recommended and fitted by my vet. On July 1, 2020 my dog lunged at a cat. This time, the Pet smart gentle-lead did not control her face/head and she pulled me down a driveway. As she dove under a truck to get the cat, I slammed my head, torso and hips into a parked truck tailgate. I was transported by ambulance to a nearby emergency room where I was diagnosed with a concussion to the forehead, possible retina detachment, fracture to my optical orbital floor and fracture of nose bridge, possible hairline fracture to ribs, focal hematoma to hip bone, 26 stitches to my face and 9 staples on my scalp, nerve damage to my left hand because I tried to brace for impact. Not to mention scrapes and bruises to both knees.

I don’t want anyone else to get a false sense of safety by using this product!
