No incident, no one hurt Made Jun 24, 2026, sent to the company Jun 29, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 14, 2026
The product, in the report: Petlibro Polar Wet Food Feeder with Stainless Steel Food Bowl, Model PLAF109. Automatic electric pet feeder with a rotating multi-bowl stainless steel tray designed to keep wet/refrigerated pet food cool and rotate fresh portions on a timed schedule. Color: black/dark gray housing with a stainless steel rotating tray insert. Power input: 12V, 5A via included AC power adapter also accepts 3 D-cell batteries as backup power. FCC ID: 2A3DE-PLAF109.
What happened: A plastic component inside the automatic pet feeder’s rotating tray mechanism melted from internal heat during normal, intended use. When I removed the feeding tray, the melted plastic piece was too hot to touch. The feeder’s receptacle housing is plastic and is not designed to generate or withstand this level of heat, indicating an internal electrical or mechanical malfunction. I am reporting this because I believe the product poses a fire hazard, and the manufacturer (Petlibro/Designlibro) has been unable to identify the cause after multiple weeks of correspondence and has not addressed the defect.
Product type: Petlibro Polar Wet Food Feeder (Stainless Steel Food Bowl), Model PLAF109, FCC ID 2A3DE-PLAF109, 12V/5A power input.
Who was using it: I am the owner and sole user/operator of the product in my home.
How it was used: Used as intended, indoors, on the floor, set up and operated per the manufacturer’s instructions, using the original power cord and adapter. The unit dispensed food on an automated schedule for my pet.
Injuries: No injuries to people or pets occurred. However, the unit became dangerously hot during normal operation, melting an internal plastic component, which I consider a fire hazard given that the unit operates unattended on a timer and is left running for extended periods, including overnight for multiple days in a row.
How injury could occur: The melted component was located inside the housing, in close proximity to other plastic parts and the power mechanism. If left running, continued overheating could lead to further melting, smoke, or fire, posing a risk especially given the device commonly runs unattended for many days.

No incident, no one hurt Made Apr 21, 2023, sent to the company Apr 26, 2023, published by CPSC May 17, 2023
The product, in the report: PETLIBRO Granary Automatic Pet Feeder - WiFi Control 5L. Model PLAF103. Color Black. Dimensions 13.78 x 12.99 x 7.48 inches
The USB power adapter for the PETLIBRO PLAF103 pet feeder which was plugged into an AC outlet was bumped by my dog, resulting in the USB power adapter separating into two pieces. The prongs stayed in the outlet, but the other side of the broken adapter exposed two electrical contacts connected directly to the 120V AC power. This resulted in brief electrical shock to my dog, and poses a severe risk to both humans and pets. The assembly of the power adapter appears to be unsafe given that there was not much force required to separate the prongs from the adapter and expose high voltage electrical contacts.

Hurt, no treatment Made Sep 26, 2022, sent to the company Sep 29, 2022, published by CPSC Oct 14, 2022
The product, in the report: PETLIBRO Granary WIFI Feeder Automatic Cat Feeder, 5G WiFi Cat Feeder with APP Control for Pet Dry Food, Stainless Steel Bowl, Low Food& Blockage Sensor, 1-10 Meals Per Day, Up to 10s Meal Call for Cat and Dog
Usb power cord was so hot it started to melt around the medal end and the transformer for the usb power cord was extremely hot to the touch. Didn’t notice until the automated pet feeder didn’t feed the cat for dinner (also didn’t feed at lunch, but didn’t notice). The plug was so hot I burned my fingers unplugging it from the outlet. I was able to pull the usb cable out of the unit and then try a 2nd time to unplug the power usb transformer out of the outlet that was still extremely hot. You can see brown residue on the cable pins and plastic around the outlet on the product was just starting to melt in the photo attached (mins away from start my home on fire).

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Feb 3, 2022, sent to the company Jun 23, 2022, published by CPSC Jul 8, 2022
The product, in the report: Dog bed
The consumer said that the dog bed has been off gassing, since he brought it into his home (estimated) Winter-2021.
The 57 consumer sat by the dog bed for months. His stomach began to swell and started gaining weight. He experienced nerve damage in his legs and lower back. Sensitivity test was done on his colon/rectum, but no issues were found.
The consumer’s dog swelled up like a balloon and she developed masses on the side of her ribs. The veterinarian thought it was fat. The dog started drinking more fluids and begging for food and her hair began to stick up. It became difficult for the dog to run, because of the weight gain. The consumer cut her food preparation in ½, but she continued to gain weight.
Since they discontinued use of the dog bed, the dog has begun to lose weight and her hair became matted again, as it should. The dog has also began acting more like her old self.
The consumer wrapped the product up in a plastic bag and has retained it for evidence. The product was made in China and he is consulting some labs for possible testing. Based on his Internet research, other people’s pets have experienced health problems, but he is unsure if it also applied to the pet owners.
He believes that there may be a correlation between his health issues and the dog bed.
