  1. First aid

Made Nov 10, 2023, sent to the company Nov 14, 2023, published by CPSC Nov 29, 2023

The product, in the report: Pet Gear jogger no zip pet stroller: model: PG8450NV

Product: Pet Gear 3 wheel Jogger pet stroller, model # PG845ONV . During a slow jog, the front wheel suddenly and unexpectedly locked up and the back end flipped over the front wheel and the stroller landed upside down. I was on a smooth paved walking trail in a campground in upstate NY. I fell over the stroller scraping my knees, hands and elbow. The cheap safety strap holding my dog inside broke and he went flying out of the stroller. He landed in the grass (thankfully) and other than being very scared seemed unharmed. There were issues with this wheel from day one and this stroller was actually a replacement for the original one purchase in November of 2020. The front wheel on the original purchase was so defective that the dog was afraid to ride secondary to the stroller wobbling and shaking so bad. After fighting with customer service and filing a complaint with the BBB in Vermont the company reluctantly sent a new stroller about 6 months later. Reading other reviews on Amazon there are multiple documented issues with this strollers front wheel. I have also posted several negative reviews regarding this product with an update documenting this issue. We were traveling for several months and while cleaning out some files I found the paperwork for this stroller and decided to file this complaint. The stroller was left in the dump at the campground and we purchased a different one from a local pet supply store. This was a replacement for the stroller purchased in Nov-2020, so the actually usage start date was approx. May of 2021 when the weather was nice enough for walks with the dog and we left on another road trip in our RV.

Made May 23, 2016, sent to the company Jun 2, 2016, published by CPSC Jun 23, 2016

The product, in the report: Pet Gear Inc. Travel Lite Pet Stroller in Light Pink (stroller for small dog)

I bought a small pet stroller. It is made by Pet Gear Inc. It is the Travel Lite model. I fold the stroller up and went to put it into my car. Upon doing this, my fingers became trapped in between the bars of the metal frame. It was all 4 fingers, except for my thumb. I was by myself and every time i tried to get the stroller open, it just squished my fingers harder. It happened to my left hand. I drove home with my right hand on the steering wheel and could only hold my thumb and index finger on my left hand for steering. One nail ripped, and all fingers were very sore and moving them was hard. This is the day after and my fingers are still extremely sore.

I believe the problem is that there is no locking mechanism to keep the stroller folded properly when storing it away. If there was a locking mechanism, it would have kept the parts from moving and pinching my fingers. I am afraid that this could do worse damage to someone else, especially a child since it is a smaller stroller.

I called their number and only received their answering service and left a message with them. 877-752-9123.
