The product, in the report: https://www.amazon.com/Wooden-Foldable-Pet-Safety-Gate/dp/B0CRKLYNRS/ Wooden Foldable Pet Dog Safety Gate - 4 Panel 20” W x 24” H - Hand Carved Suzani Free Standing Portable Indoor Puppy Gate - Doorway Hall Stairs Dog Fence - Assembled - Pecan Brown - IRONGATE Ships from: Amazon Sold by: Orient Originals ASIN: B0CRKLYNRS
I am reporting a consumer safety issue involving repeated shipment of mold-contaminated products sold on Amazon.com.
I purchased a Wooden Foldable Pet Dog Safety Gate sold by Orient Originals and fulfilled by Amazon. I placed two separate orders, and both gates arrived visibly covered in mold, with a strong musty odor. The condition made the items unusable and posed a potential health risk inside my home.
After receiving the products, I reviewed the product page and found multiple other customers reporting the same issue mold contamination within the same week (December 2024, 2025). Several reviews explicitly state that the items arrived covered in mold, and Amazon notes in those reviews that the products were fulfilled by Amazon, meaning Amazon controlled storage and fulfillment.
I filed a complaint with the [REDACTED]. Amazon responded that the product may temporarily be unavailable from the seller; however, I documented that the exact same product remained actively listed for sale by the same seller after that response.
I also experienced difficulty submitting a critical product review warning other consumers. My review submissions repeatedly failed or were rejected without explanation for over 24 hours. The review only went through after I contacted Amazon phone support. This delayed the publication of a legitimate safety-related warning while the product continued to be sold.
This does not appear to be an isolated incident, but rather a pattern of mold contamination affecting multiple customers, likely tied to storage or handling conditions. Despite multiple reports, the product remained available for purchase.
I am submitting this complaint to document a potential consumer health and safety risk, request investigation into Amazons handling of contaminated inventory, and ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken to protect consumers.
I have photo and video evidence of the moldy gate, and screenshots of other buyers complaining about the same issue.
