No incident, no one hurt Made Oct 16, 2024, sent to the company Nov 18, 2024, published by CPSC Dec 3, 2024
The product, in the report: Stall mats 4x6 from GreatMats.com (rubber horse stall mats)
We purchased mats from GreatMats.com a US company that manufactures in Canada. The representative that sold us the product knew they were for an indoor gym. He told us they would have an odor but it turns out that they also put off an excessive amt of carbon Dioxide. Our HVAC thermostat shows the air quality is Poor with a High level of volatile organic compounds. We have since learned directly from GreatMats that the product should only be used in barns with livestock. They have communicated in writing that they have no obligation to disclose these issues and they are aware that they knowingly sold a product for indoor use that is not safe for that use. Thats not ok. Apparently the mats require weeks or even months to out gas which was also not disclosed as part of the purchase.
