  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 29, 2026, sent to the company Jul 2, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 17, 2026

The product, in the report: Silver 4 liter Doggy Spout pet water filtration fountain bowl made by Kitty Spout

Lithium ion battery exploded from the Doggy Spout by Kitty Spout. It has left a hole in my ceiling from a part that shot through the ceiling. It has also left a large burn on my flooring and soot all over from the debris. Thankfully my dog was not near it when it exploded but she did walk through the soot.

(07/27/2026) Since reporting this event, the manufacturer added a comment to the report stating they “have not been provided access to the product.”

I have received several emails stating they are looking for a local inspector after I had told them I dont feel comfortable shipping an exploded battery nor do I want to release the only proof I have. It has been a month since this incident has occurred and they have yet to issue a refund for this product stating “we’re working on it” Additionally they noted they are working on a solution at leadership level however I have heard nothing and have provided them with quotes for damage and the fire department dispatch report.
