The product, in the report: The product is a “catit” brand water fountain for pets. But the issue is focused on the USB wall transformer that it plugs into to get power for the water pump.
I have a Catit water fountain. The issue is with the USB wall adapter that is included with it to provide power to the water pump. I noticed that the fountain was no longer running, but it appeared to still be plugged in. I went to unplug it to investigate and the wall adapter broke apart (disintegrated) in my hand. I have no idea what happened to it to cause it to break apart. From my initial inspection, it appeared to be perfectly normal, but half of the housing literally shattered into small pieces when I attempted to pull it from the wall socket. I was holding half of the case in the my hand (intact) and the other half was still plugged in (i.e., the metal wall prongs) with that part of the case disintegrating around it. We had to very carefully remove each of the metal outlet prongs to keep from electrocuting ourselves. I have a photo of the shattered wall adapter, but I cannot get the image upload to work to provide it.
