First aid Made May 30, 2023, sent to the company Jun 1, 2023, published by CPSC Jun 15, 2023
The product, in the report: Raised etched glass face with purple curved plastic housing with brand name “Bleame” printed in white letters; designed for hair removal
I used Bleame crystal hair remover for the first time today. The package on the box claims to be “pain free” and “irritation free.” The package also recommends to use it on wet skin for best results and move it in gentle circles. Following this recommendation has left me with very painful irritated skin and bleeding.

Hurt, no treatment Made Apr 25, 2023, sent to the company Apr 27, 2023, published by CPSC May 11, 2023
The product, in the report: Brand: Bleame Product name: Crystal Hair Eraser (1-pack)
I purchased a “crystal” hair eraser from a company called Bleame. I followed the directions on the packaging and ended up with a painful rash on my arm. After looking for other consumers who had this issue, I discovered this is a common issue for many people but the company hides/deleted negative comments on social posts & ads. I was also surprised that it’s not actually a crystal but a glass file. They also falsely claim on the packaging that the product is “100% painless” and “no skin irritation.” They should not be allowed to lie on the packaging or continue their false advertising.

First aid Made Mar 3, 2023, sent to the company Mar 8, 2023, published by CPSC Mar 30, 2023
The product, in the report: Bleame Magic Crystal hair eraser
I purchased two of the Bleame magic crystal hair erasers online. When they arrived, I used in a circular motion on wet skin as directed. It took the skin off my arms. Layers of skin. Inflammation, serous discharge, then scabbing and now starting to heal six days later. Nowhere in any literature that accompanied the product did it suggest this could happen.

Hurt, no treatment Made Mar 1, 2023, sent to the company Mar 6, 2023, published by CPSC Mar 20, 2023
The product, in the report: A purple oblong shaped “ped egg” type product with a smooth to touch fine grit material similar to fine sandpaper or a nail buffer.
I ordered the product based on an ad from [REDACTED], marketing a shaving hair removal tool specifically for people with sensitive skin (me). So I ordered it, and used it exactly as directed and it actually sanded my skin off like rug burn. It didn’t hurt immediately but within a few hours my skin was inflamed, painful, and red bumps appeared worse than razor burn. My skin became very itchy and raw and painful to the touch all over where the product was used. I repeated the use of the product after reaching out to the company being told I must have done it wrong. Tried again and it was even worse, leaving bloody rug burn marks that have actually left scars on my legs now even months later. The company told me to apply lotion after using the product which made the raw skin on my legs even more intensely painful! This product I was told was meant for sensitive skin and is safe with risk free trials. The company didn’t honor their advertising and blamed me for injury even after providing photos and following their step by step. They refused a refund despite advertising 30 days risk free, and I ran into issues from day one with regular use.

First aid Made Feb 8, 2023, sent to the company Feb 13, 2023, published by CPSC Feb 28, 2023
The product, in the report: Bleame hair eraser. Purple handle with gray “eraser.” Says “Bleame” white print on the right upper side.
Purchased a Bleame crystal hair eraser from bleame.com on 1/22/23. On 1/31/23 and 2/1/23, I used a Bleame crystal hair eraser on three different spots on legs and got a very painful burning sensation for 24 hrs. Wearing clothing over the skin was further irritating. Applied triple antibiotic cream to prevent infection and aid in faster healing. Rash and bumps appeared in all three areas. Bled once. I used the product as recommended by the manufacturer. I also tried it in three different ways.. dry skin, damp skin, and wet skin with all the same results (all three ways were acceptable per manufacturer instructions). They will not respond to email (I have sent 4 emails thus far and they have only responded once. They keep deleting comments on social media (or hiding them) if they are negative. It would be nice to see what the risk was before using it or be able to warm others of potential side effects. It can do a lot of damage to the skin (but unfortunately the damage is already done by the time you stop using it because you can’t see any difference or feel any pain until after you stop rubbing and let it sit a few minutes!). I would not recommend this product and hope kids can’t get them as they are already prone to really sensitive skin!

Hurt, no treatment Made Feb 2, 2023, sent to the company Feb 7, 2023, published by CPSC Feb 22, 2023
The product, in the report: The Bleame crystal hair eraser is a purple plastic holder that has a piece of etched glass attached to it (the “crystal” part of the hair eraser). This is meant to be rubbed on skin (either dry, wet, or with shaving cream) to remove body hair.
I purchased a Bleame crystal hair eraser online a few months ago. The website says it works with gentle pressure. I tried it out, and couldn’t get it to work using gentle pressure, so I set it aside. A couple weeks ago, I decided to try it again, this time using more pressure. I was able to get it to remove hair using more pressure, I tried various techniques (on dry skin, wet skin, and with shaving cream) as directed on the package, and I ended up with really bad skin irritation on my right arm. I also got milder skin irritation and rash on my left arm and inner thigh. The skin irritation occurred when I used the product as directed on their package and website, I documented my rash. I did not get skin burns from using the product on my lower legs, but I did get burns on my arms and inner thigh. I did some looking around online and discovered that I am not the only person who has had skin irritation/friction burns from this product and similar products. Severe skin irritation is a common complaint with people who use these crystal hair erasers. The “crystal” is actually etched glass similar to a glass nail file and it’s like sandpapering your skin, especially when used on wet skin, which they recommend. The Bleame company does not warn people of the high potential for skin irritation with their product and actually touts their product as 100% pain free (I have already filed a complaint with the FTC concerning their deceptive business practices).
