  1. First aid

Made Sep 14, 2025, sent to the company Sep 17, 2025, published by CPSC Oct 1, 2025

The product, in the report: TIGI Bed Head Wave Affair 3 Barrel Digital Jumbo Hair Weaver Color: Teal, Purple on handle Size: 16.375h x 5.5w x 3.875d Weight: 7.2lbs

I obtained a large 2nd degree burn on my cheek while using the TIGI Bed Head Wave Affair 3 Barrel Digital Jumbo Hair Waver to style my hair. I was using this product as intended. I followed the instructions in the manual and read the full manual prior to its first use. The outside bottom of the plate that opens when you press the handle to put your hair in for styling slightly touched my face for an 1/8 of a second and I now have a very painful large oozing burn on my cheek. The product was so big it obscured my visibility in the mirror while styling my hair, and The product is extremely heavy for one hand use on the lever. Also there is no protective covering for the outside of the plate that is the backside of the tool used in the styling of the hair, opens wide with push of the lever/ when you press the clamping lever. The manual does not mention the outside of the plate is as hot as the barrels or as hot as the interior part of the product that does the styling.
