The product, in the report: Scunci 1pc Large Octopus Claw Hair Clip. No Slip Grip. No. 36159. It also comes in a smaller size. I bought this from Walgreens and I got my finger caught in this clip while I was driving and couldn’t get it out. My finger fits inside of the slots between the “tentacles” and they shift into the V-shape pinch at the end. Any size finger can get caught into this v-shaped slot. This is very dangerous. Please have Scunci discontinue this Octopus design in both sizes. scunci Division Conair LLC Stamford CT 06902 800-3-CONAIR 18sh057006 36159A-335B.

The product, in the report: Pink metal hair clip made by Scunci.

My 3 year old ingested a metal scunci hair clip. The clip became lodged near her duodenum. Attempts to recover the lodged clip noninvasively failed. The clip was removed by open surgery, however the success of surgery was questioned and required the site to remain open under a wound vac overnight. A second surgery the following day was not promising. A leak continued to be suspected. My child remained hospitalized for 19 days during the first admission due to a suspected leak at the surgical site. Discharged after the suspected leak walled itself off. About 4 weeks later my child was redmitted for 12 more days after 2 adhesions formed. Open surgery was again conducted and appx 1 foot of intestine was removed.

The product, in the report: Scunci no-slip grip hair bands. They come in a package of 4 different colors.

I received a package of Scunci no-slip grip hair bands in December. I slept with one in back in March and as result, I have lost a patch of hair. On the morning after I slept with it in, my head was sore and indented. A few days later, the area was red and swollen. A few weeks later, I noticed my hair was falling out then noticed a distinct (about 2 inch) line in my head where I was missing hair. I went to a Dr. for this and she believes the hair loss is due to sleeping with the hair band. She couldn’t tell me if it was due to contact dermatitis, as the hair band has an open area on the back that is the no-slip grip or due to the compression and the band being too tight. I received steroid injections in my head with the hope that it will restore the hair, but the dermatologist couldn’t give me a definitive that it will grow back. I have email the company two times requesting material information, but have yet to receive a response.
