Hurt, no treatment Made Apr 9, 2014, sent to the company Apr 17, 2014, published by CPSC May 1, 2014
The product, in the report: The product was an eyelash curler. The manufacturer is Sally Hansen. The curler was a newer curler on the market with white handles. The curler has a powerful spring for a tighter curl. There is an additional spring hidden in the handles.
I bought a Sally Hansen eyelash curler. It was a newer version with white handles. It was very effective at curling my lashes. One day I used the eyelash curler and a spring broke and it ripped out my lashes and the spring hit my eye. It was painful and throbbed for about 48 hours, then my eye was fine.
I have the curler in its broken form and my eyelashes are still on the curler. I can only say that I was lucky not to have a serious eye injury.
As a result of this injury, I will never use an eyelash curler again.
