The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Emergency room

Made May 27, 2017, sent to the company Jun 6, 2017, published by CPSC Jun 27, 2017

The product, in the report: Red by Kiss 1” ceramic flat iron

On the night of May 25th, I was beginning to straighten my hair with the Red by Kiss 1” ceramic flat iron. Everything was fine I made sure my area was dry and that my hair as well as my hands were dry. The product heated up fine but as soon after I began to straighten my hair the product began to audibly pop. I could not let the item go or remove it from my head due to the fact that I was being electrocuted by the current coming from the iron. It wasn’t until the cord blew out of the back that I was able to put down the iron itself. From there I had to unplug the cord from the socket to prevent further damage. I have medical records, pictures, as well as the faulty appliance as evidence.
