Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Nov 14, 2014, sent to the company Nov 25, 2014, published by CPSC Dec 10, 2014

The product, in the report: KeratinPerfect PerfectSleek Titanium Flat Iron. Model # KP-D10PMR. Pink color handles with titanium plates. About 8 inches in length, has a plug. I have some pictures but the button on your website to Add Files does not work (the pop-up screen is blank).

On Oct 28, 2014 I plugged my KeratinPerfect PerfectSleek Titanium Flat Iron and pressed the button to turn it on. A few seconds later I smelled something burning. One of the metal plates on the flat iron was melting off. I immediately turned it off and unplugged it before it completely fell off the handle. It could have been a fire/burn hazard if I was not paying attention. I had purchased this product through the Living Social website in May 2014. On Oct 28, I contacted the manufacturer, KeratinPerfect, via email on their website to let them know what had happened and that I believed it should be reported. I waited a few days with no response from them. I sent a follow up email and still have not received a response. I have received a refund from Living Social. But this product is a hazard and I felt I should report it since I’m not getting a response from KeratinPerfect.
