The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made Sep 14, 2012, sent to the company Sep 24, 2012, published by CPSC Oct 23, 2012

The product, in the report: Infinite Hot Pink Curling Iron manufactured by Royale USA www.royalusa.com 1-800-965-0302

Royale Infinite Hot Pink Curling Iron. www.royaleusa.com Family member purchased this product and sustained a burn to the hand/wrist during use. Unlike flat irons or other curling irons that have covers over the heated part to protect skin from burns, this one does not. It presents a burn/safety hazard in the following 3 ways and should be taken off of the market.

    1. The “curling” part that gets extremely hot has no cover at all, it is completely exposed. There is nothing to protect a small child from grabbing the end and sustaining a burn. 2. It lacks an indicator light. There is no light to indicate if it is off or on and could be extremely hot. 3. No temperature setting to control/regulate how hot it becomes.

I have spoken to the company directly and was told there was nothing they could do and they would not refund my money. The retail price on this poorly made and dangerous product was $130.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.
