The product, in the report: Dyson Airwrap multi-styler and dryer Straight+Wavy (Nickel/Copper), Height 10.7 in, Length 1.6 in, Width 1.9 in. Report is regarding the Round Volumizing Brush attachment, which is one of many attachments or hair tools that connect to the main body of the machine for the purpose of styling hair
**Product Name**:Dyson Airwrap **Manufacturer**: Dyson
I have experienced repeated safety issues with the Dyson Airwrap, specifically with two round brush attachments. The attachment prongs, which appear to be made of plastic, lose their shape after the product heats up during use. As a result, the attachments no longer securely lock onto the machine and eventually dislodge. This issue first occurred with my original round brush attachment, which completely dislodged multiple times after losing its locking power. I had this attachment replaced after dozens of failures.
However, the replacement attachment, which I received about two to three months ago, is already experiencing the same problem. It frequently becomes loose during use, despite my efforts to be cautious. On a recent occasion, the attachment completely dislodged from the machine while it was in use, causing a significant safety hazard. The attachment flew off and burned my chin, as it was extremely hot.
This presents a serious risk of injury. I am fortunate that it only hit me, as my young daughter was nearby, and it could have easily flown off and hit her instead.
The issue seems to lie with the material of the attachment prongs and the locking mechanism of the machine, which fail to function properly after extended use, particularly when exposed to heat. Given the potential for serious harm, I believe this product presents a safety risk and needs further investigation.
